Welcome to Simonis Pilates
Ellen Simonis, Director of Simonis Pilates, Dancer/Teacher, has extensive experience and is highly trained in many areas of the physical body, dynamically integrating Mind Body awareness with over 25 years professional experience.
Ellen also serves as a personal assistant to HH SaiMaa Lakshmi Devi and has been a Master Teacher for 7 years.
A professional ballet dancer for 15 years, Ellen was first introduced to Pilates as part of her professional ballet training. She studied and received her Teacher Training with Mary Kasakove and Brenda Anderson, owners of the prestigious Anderson Kasakove Studio in NYC, Ellen earned the position as a private instructor working clients of all levels; advanced conditioning to rehabilitation. She has also studied with Peter Vallaincourt in NYC and Carol Appel and associates at Body Kinetics in Mill Valley.

For the past 6 years, Ellen trained and continues a working relationship with Hully Fetico - master bodyworker / injury specialist, shaman and master trainer to Olympians and world class athletes.
Additional Teaching Experience
Ellen has taught ballet for over 25 years, owned and directed DanceWorks, danced professionally with the David Howard Dance Center Company in NYC, attended Intensive Teacher Training Seminars with David Howard, Maya Plisetskaya- former Prima Ballerina Bolshoi Ballet and Irina Kolpokova- former Prima Ballerina Kirov Ballet. Early ballet training at SFB School, ABT School and special training in Russia and England.
Ellen has taught yoga for 13 years and continues her training with intensive workshops; Ellen leads and facilitates workshops in meditation and advanced breath work (pranayama.)
Drawing from her rich experiences in movement and awareness Ellen can help facilitate balance, strength and a deeper experience in your exercise program, empowering you to take control of your health and wellbeing.
Ellen challenges you to push past limiting beliefs created in the mind, moving into a deeper understanding of the Mind Body principle, taking with you the feeling of being stronger, more flexible, vibrant and energized. You will look and feel better in just a few classes.
